Amanda Petersen, M.Div.

Amanda's passion is to create the space where each person can listen deeply the Wisdom Within. As life continually unfolds, it is so important to have others to walk along side us. Founder of Pathways of Grace, Amanda has experience as a pastor, hospice chaplain, spiritual director, life coach and artist.

With her group work and retreats, she emphasizes the gift of community; that in being present to one another, no matter what the similarities or differences might be, we are all connected. She is co-director of The Art of Deep Listening spiritual direction training and Supervision of Spiritual Directors training at Pathways of Grace. She has led many contemplative workshops and retreats and is adjunct faculty at the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction.

Amanda has been practicing spiritual direction for over 22 years. With individuals, she walks through the transitions in one's life and how to pay attention to the gift of God/Divine in the midst of all circumstances. She truly believes that the transitions of life help teach us that life can change and in amazing ways - beyond what one could ever imagine. Her style is intuitive, meeting each person where they are, allowing space to hear the Wisdom within their own hearts. In this process various prayer practices, spiritual practices or discernment tools may be used. Amanda often encourages using creativity in one's spiritual journey. Her training includes Spiritual Direction, Individual Supervision with Spiritual Directors, the Ignatian Exercises, Benedictine Spirituality, Meditation and other Contemplative Practices. Confidentiality is very important and will be discussed on the first visit. She follows a specifc Code of Ethics as a minister, spiritual director and life coach.

Amanda is also a writer and an artist. She enjoys creating art that brings the Spirit and whimsy together with "The Love of Grace Pet Icons", and other forms of art. She is committed to living a simple life with intention toward where the Divine is leading. She is the mother of an amazing adult daughter, grandmother to beautiful Alice, and blessed owner of her Boston Terrier, Grace.

Individual spiritual direction sessions last hour and may take place in person, by phone or via the internet. How often we meet will depend on what you feel you need at the time. On average, most people meet once or twice a month. Fees for Pathways of Grace are on a sliding scale of $55 - $95 per session, and you decide what works best for your situation.

Supervision with spiritual directors and pastors may last between 30-60 minutes and is also on a sliding scale.

Coaching is offered in a package of 3, 6 or 9 months and cost varies depending on the frequency of time together. Please contact Amanda for more information.

Somehow you saw me and heard me, and (more importantly) helped me hear myself and the ‘wisdom’ I sometimes forget I have. Our sessions helped me find connections with God that are comfortable to me when I found that I couldn’t pray or talk to God in the ‘regular’ way. And it helped me overcome my doubts and feelings that maybe God is punishing me. I’ve been able to bring God into parts of my life where He wasn’t before, using some of the tools you showed me.

Amanda leads you on an incredible journey of reflection and discovery.
She helped us discover the many ways God is with us during our daily lives.
