The Seasons are Shifting Once Again

The seasons are shifting once again. I often call the Phoenix summers with their longer days and hotter temperatures our winters because I tend to pull inside just like I did when I lived in Alaska during the winter months. As I am cocooned inside, I find myself looking for ways to stretch my horizons when they feel smaller and to connect with others.

One of the ways I do this is with books. This is why I do a Summer Book Club each year.  This year the books are:

Life Will Be the Death of Me… and You Too by Chelsea Handler

A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership by James Comey

Word by Word: The Secret Life of Dictionaries by Kory Stamper

Chaos Me: The Unbelievably Smart and Funny Story of How Randomness Improves Your Brain by Yaron Ilan M.D.

Along with these I’d like you to invite you into an 8 week read with Tosha Silver’s book, It’s Not Your Money.

Another way I made it through the long winters in Alaska and the hot summers of Arizona was by finding ways to bring community together.

You are invited to join a Soul Centered Mastermind and find one area of your life that you’d like to focus on and get the support of community this summer. Did you have great intentions at the beginning of the year? Are you looking to start the Fall off with energy?  Maybe you would love to do a personal retreat in everyday life over the summer. The Soul Centered Mastermind is a great way to do this.

For those who are more business focused and would love to have a day to just focus on yourself and how you want to show up for your business, Kim Evans and I are doing a day retreat June 9th (more information to come). This retreat is about recalibrating your inner compass and checking it to affirm you are going in the direction you want to go.

And finally, for fun and creativity I will be doing some doodling workshops this summer. One will be a meditative doodling experience and the other will be putting the doodles on stones. I love doodling the stones and then scattering them as I take my early morning walk.

What are your favorite ways to experience the summer? Being intentional about how you want to be in times you cannot change is important. You get to choose!
