We hear the encouragement "live from the inside, the center." Yes, it sounds wonderful, and even resonates with my Being, but in the reality of life living from the center can get lost in translation. With this in mind I actually had the experience of seeing centered-living happen right before my eyes in a most unlikely event.Read More
I’m an early to bed, early to rise kind of person. When New Year’s Eve comes around, most of the time I wait until New Year’s Day to greet it with the sunrise. There are years when I am with family and friends who want to stay up and greet the new year at midnight. On those occasions I need a lot of intention and distraction to keep myself awake and even then, it’s no guarantee. Many times, someone is shaking me awake saying “Happy New Year!”.Read More

“Talking to them is like talking to a brick wall.” Have you ever had a conversation where all you are thinking is “they are so stubborn, if they would only look at life a bit differently it would be so much better?” What do you do with the stubborn, set-in-their-ways people in your life? This is a question I hear a lot, especially from people who have experienced awakening or have opened up to God in their lives and know the benefits of changing your perspective. The gift of freedom and love is so strong that when you bump into someone who is closed off and complaining about it and yet refuses to do anything about it the contrast actually feels painful.Read More
We are in the season of summer road trips. Anyone remember AAA trip maps? I loved them as a kid. I could see where we have been and know where we were headed. I love seeing the whole picture!! Then along comes GPS. I have to admit I struggle with GPS. It just tells me moment by moment where I am to go and I have to trust it. Having lived in the Valley for a long time I know several ways to get to where I want to go; why listen to GPS?Read More
Have you ever said “that’s not my thing” or “I just don’t do that” ? This can be a stumbling block for many who are in transition or who want to grow. Everything is going along, you're learning new skills, being stretched and challenged, and it’s all good. That is part of growth. “If you don’t prioritize your life, someone else will.” I recently read this in Greg McKeown’s book Essentialism. As I have been letting those words sink in the truth is coming forward as an inside out life rather than an outside in life. If you have ever felt like life is living you instead of you living life, spend some time with that sentence.Read More

Traffic has always been a sore spot for me, yet as I get older I notice the wound is wide open. I am now finding myself in resistance to going places even if the destination is something I will enjoy. Now, when everything is open and the ride is smooth I am fantastic, but when the traffic is heavy and takes twice as long AND other people are cutting me off or doing crazy driving, I am a mess when I arrive at my destination and it takes me a bit to regroup. I have a feeling, based on how some of the people come in to Pathways of Grace, that I am not alone in that.Read More
Ever eat a great soup or chili and just pause at how wonderful it was and then think “what is that taste?” There is some herb or flavor in there that is just a bit different but you can’t quite put your finger on it? Or have you ever tasted a meal and could taste the love and attention that was put into it? (By the way that is our Affiliate Carmella’s specialty, check out the programs she is catering)Read More
