The Art of Deep Listening

  • Are you in a helping profession and ready to take the next step or are you looking for spiritual direction training?

  • Do you yearn for connection to community beyond “programmatic” offerings?
  • Are you ready to go deeper with yourself, God and others?

“THE ART OF DEEP LISTENING” may be the place for you!

Using the practice of “Spiritual Direction/Companioning” as our guide this 7-month community will explore the gift of deep listening to God, self and others.

During this 6-month experience each individual will awaken their faith walk through the exploration of the following practices:

  • Operative images of God
  • Meditation, mindfulness and silence
  • Discovery of story
  • Learning to ask deep questions of self and others
  • Understanding the mind, body and spirit connection
  • Integrating ancient and modern understandings of spiritual deepness
  • What it means to be a spiritual companion

By the end of the six months, each individual will have practical applications they will be able to use to impact their own sphere of influence.

  • This group is limited to 8 participants
  • The group will meet monthly, with online support between group meetings
  • Each participant will receive a certification of completion in the ”Art of Deep Listening” which will enable those who wish to practice spiritual direction.

Due to the nature of this experience, there will be a short interview before acceptance into The Art of Deep Listening.

Led by Michelle Jereb and Amanda Petersen

Michelle Jereb is a Spiritual Director, Reiki Master, Meditation Teacher and Retreat Leader.  Her passion is to help bring healing to people “mind, body, & spirit”. She delights when people connect to their light within. She enjoys reading, aromatherapy, and spending lots and lots of time with her grandchildren (her best teachers).

Amanda Petersen, founder of Pathways of Grace, has experience as a Pastor, Hospice Chaplain, Spiritual Director, Life Coach and Artist. With her group work and retreats she emphasizes the gift of community and being present to one another no matter what the similarities or differences might be we are all one with God. She has led many contemplative workshops and retreats for churches and other organizations. She is approaching her 20th year as a spiritual director/companion and is adjunct faculty at Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction.

Refunds: Please consider carefully your selection prior to registering as all class registrations are non-refundable once the class has begun, similar to a transaction you would make to purchase a consultation with a professional. You may cancel your registration one week prior to the event for a full refund less a $10 processing fee. Our programs have a limited number of participants so when you register we are reserving one of those spaces for you. You are making a commitment to yourself, to your fellow participants, and to the facilitators who are hard at work preparing the materials and space for you.
