What Amanda Is Playing With Now...
Papier-mâché is one of the most joyful art forms—simple paper transformed into something full of life. Used by artists for hundreds of years, it invites imagination, imperfection, and play. Each sculpture is entirely handmade using traditional papier-mâché techniques blended with paper clay, giving every piece its own personality and charm. Wrapped inside each form are handwritten words expressing love for a beloved pet, making every sculpture deeply personal. Created slowly and intentionally, each piece captures the spirit, humor, and heart of the animal it represents—no two are ever alike, just like the pets that inspire them.
Icons are traditionally painted on a wooden board with egg tempera, which must be applied to a firm surface to prevent it from cracking upon drying. The wooden panel is usually prepared with several coats of white gesso. Amanda creates each artwork in acrylic on wood, adorned with details such as gold-leaf halos.
